ABOUT US

The Twin Opportunities’ Children Home began in 2016 as a small family home. Stephanie Harden who is unable to bear children of her own, has always had a passion for children who have and are abandoned, abused and neglected. She saw that she could provide a home for some of these children.

In 2001, Ms. Harden began working with “at risk children” in Landstuhl, Germany as a Recreation Coordinator. She coordinated outdoor activities for challenged children who were considered too “hyper” for the normal classroom setting. In 2003, Stephanie began working with Georgia Sheriff’s boys’ home located in Nunez, Georgia. Realizing the love and passion she felt for children, she decided to continue to work for them faithfully until her return to school.

From 2007-2011, Ms. Harden worked as a Biology Instructor with the Department of Juvenile Justice. It was during this time she realized the need for stability and guidance for the youth was imperative.

As a Counselor with Youth Challenge Academy, Ms. Harden has always helped at risk boys, primarily become more productive in today’s society. The idea behind the name was to give boys the same opportunity as others to become better citizens. The theme was given to Ms. Harden by her mother who currently works in youth ministry in Southeast Georgia.

Ms. Harden began to share her idea, with her sibling,Tracie Harden, who also has many years of experience working with "at risk youth".  The two decided to open up their home and admit children who have been removed from their home for reasons of neglect, abuse or abandonment.
